The new student center and housing complex is a much needed addition to the fast-growing University of South Florida's Sarasota-Manatee campus. This six-story, 100,000-square-foot building will feature a student center on the ground floor and housing on the upper floors. The student center has a new bookstore, a dining room, a lounge, and meeting rooms. The housing portion comprises 70 double occupancy rooms and 60 single occupancy rooms.

Construction is masonry walls supporting hollow-core planks for the roof and living levels. The stairs are cast-in-place concrete. The foundations are shallow concrete spread footings for walls and pad footings for columns.
