Ringling College Madeby Gallery
The Madeby Gallery is the centerpiece of the Ringling campus. Where design meets society: the intersection of work and show. When we were asked to help design a building for the campus to use as a Gallery, we agreed on the spot, as we knew the project would be a prestigious opportunity and test our creative abilities. The ample space in the Gallery is made possible by the two-story roof, supported by steel columns and beamline interior to the building. The roofs, both upper and lower, are pre-engineered steel bar joists spanning to exterior masonry walls allowing for a captivating dropped ceiling to be used to re-define the height of the space.
