BIM SPECIALIST

We are seeking a BIM Specialist with experience in REVIT Architecture, Structure and Navisworks to join our team in Sarasota, FL. The position will focus on the support of Structural Engineers in the development and implementation of standards for REVIT as well as the creation of Design and Construction Documents. Projects worked on will include the full range of sectors which Snell Engineering provides services for Educational, Religious, Healthcare, Institutional, and Commercial. The right candidate needs to possess experience in REVIT and be extremely detail oriented. The candidate should be familiar with structural systems and have the desire to grow in the role. Communication skills and the ability to work with multiple deadlines is also necessary. Other tasks include being able to maintain correct usage of BIM standards as well as keeping up with current industry trends. This position will interface with clients and other sub-consultants for collision and quality checks.

Experience with REVIT is a requirement, please do not submit a resume without being able to provide a portfolio of work in REVIT either in .rvt or .pdf format. STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join the team of our growing structural engineering firm. We are currently working on projects across the eastern United States. The position will focus on the oversight of Structural Design and Construction Administration of a variety of Building projects including Commercial, Educational, Office projects, Private and Multi-family residential. Qualified candidates should have between 0-4 years of experience as a structural engineer or project engineer on structural projects. This is an entry-level position. The individual should be able to oversee and meet our clients’ goals and objectives, meet the scope and timeline of each project and be responsible for the technical design.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of permittable structural engineering packages for building structures in accordance with jurisdictional requirements.
  • Prepare construction reports and drawings, processing and analyzing data.
  • Perform structural design and analysis of wood, aluminum, steel, masonry, and concrete structures.
  • Track jurisdiction specific requirements and provide that information to the Engineering Staff.
  • Communicate with Architects and other engineering consultants.
  • Coordinate construction-related questions and provide directions/responses.
  • Perform full design of small projects and portions of large projects.
  • Perform review of shop drawings, RFIs, and other Construction Administration.
  • Detailing and modeling in BIM (Revit) and 3-D design software.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Civil/Structural ABEC Accredited Engineering program, hold an F.E. certificate or ability to obtain a certificate within 3-6 months.
  • 0-4 years of structural engineering experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including M.S. Office, Google Docs, Bluebeam, etc.
  • Experience in AutoCAD and/or Revit, with a preference for Revit or other BIM software.
  • Experience in structural engineering design software (RISA, Adapt, STAAD, Bentley, etc.).
  • Be knowledgeable of code referenced standards (ASCE, FBC/IBC, ACI, AISC, NDS, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Interact in a professional, office environment
