Sarasota Fire Station 8

This new 19,300-square-foot fire station includes a 7,200-square-foot Special Operations building, four drive-through apparatus bays, an aluminum training tower, and living quarters for 14 firefighters. The station is designed to withstand Category 4 hurricanes and is LEED Certified.

Construction of the building is load-bearing masonry walls supporting pre-engineered light gauge metal trusses. Foundations are shallow concrete spread footings for walls and pad footings for columns.
